I am the Nanook Punk. I'm older than my teeth, and younger than the Bible. I made this page to present my views on stuff. I make no apologies to any for who I am, what I believe, how I look, and what I say. If you don't wanna hear what I want to say, piss off. If you are however interested in the free exchange of ideas, intrests, brain farts, and music speak. Hang out and take it in.
| What is an X-Punk? | |||||||||||||||||

X-Punk is a term I have created so many may have never heard of it before. The Greeks back in the day used symbols for whole words. It saved space on their scrolls for other stuff. One of these symbols was what could be mistaken as a germanic X. The Greek Symbol X had only one meaning. It simply meant Christ. I and alot of my buds get sick of having to tell people that we are Christian Punks. It's first a real pain in the ass to type. Second, it labels us as something we are not. The term Christian in itself is not a bad thing. It was coined by the romans as an insult for those who tried to live their lives following and acting like Christ. It meant little Christ. What I believe occurs in society across the board is this. When a sect of people name themselves and organize their group over time they become stereotyped and classified by the remainder of their society. The terms Christian and Punk do not sit well together. Not because the two things cannot coexist, but because our society doesn't like things that do not fit with it's pre-set ideals. I am an X-Punk. I have Christ in my heart, in my life, and in my soul. I do not however fit the Christian stereotype. Not only that, but I do not fit the original meaning of the term Christian I am not a little Christ. Jesus wasn't a punk. If he were around today I don't think he would listen to Punk Rock. I do believe he allows all music to glorify him. I am convinced that he blesses me and my band every day. I just think he does it cuz we are spreading his news. Put simply I'm a Punk. It's a part of who I am. I came up in my scene and paid my dues. No one can convience me that my loving Christ isn't Punk Rock. Punk has allways been about doing your own thing. Being who you are and not apologising for it. There are aspects of Punk that are almost a given in the minds of many punks. Such as hating the system, or the parts that have failed you. Things like that make it seem akward to have a guy who loves others, yet rebels against normal society in a somewhat violent manner.
